Just when Italy becomes a leading player in aerospace research, IREM confirms itself as a leader in the production of igniters for powering short arc Xenon lamps for solar simulation technology.

The areas of use of Xenon lamps range from aerospace research to scientific research up to industrial processes and material qualification.

solar simulation: Xenon lamps
In the context of solar simulation, the light source is fundamental: typically consisting of a powerful Xenon gas discharge lamp capable of emitting white light very close to the solar spectrum (about 6000 K) whose performance, duration and stability depend on the quality of the power supplies and igniters used to power it.
SOLAR SIMULATION: IREM power supplies and igniters

The main features of the power supplies and specific igniters for DC Xenon gas discharge lamps for solar simulation produced by IREM are:

Xenon Lamps: what are they and what are they used for?

Xenon lamps are special gas discharge lamps that operate on direct current (DC). Inside them, an electric arc passes through two electrodes inside a bulb filled with high-pressure Xenon gas. This process produces an intense and bright light, available immediately upon ignition, similar to natural sunlight.
