The energy needs of the Dorigoni Hut, located in Val di Rabbi in the Stelvio Natural Park, were met with the installation of an autonomously operating hydroelectric plant IREM Ecowatt Hydro.
The fully automated and remote controlled installation consists of an IREM Ecowatt Hydro Pelton turbine with a generated electrical power of 43 kW, equipped with automatic flow rate adjustment, which interfaces with the plant for the use and distribution of the generated energy, for optimize the management of the various system components present.
Sites like this, characterized by the complexity of managing the electrical power generated, are suitable for highly automated systems, even if stand-alone.
To adjust the electrical parameters, the IREM Ecowatt Hydro system uses the constant load operating principle. This system, in addition to having very short response times (1/150 of a second), guarantees a high level of Power Quality to the users served.
All automatisms are equipped with electric servomotors allowing the total absence of lubricating oils with particular attention to the environment.
Furthermore, IREM’s design choices are aimed at maximizing the robustness of the turbine-generator group system and dissipation regulators, materials and technical solutions create a product capable of operating in the most severe working conditions.
Finally, the guarantee of a certified and customized industrial product on the needs of the individual customer provides high quality standards by reducing maintenance operations to a minimum.
ECOWATT HYDRO Pelton turbines are designed and manufactured entirely by IREM and ensure simple operation in order to minimize installation, commissioning and maintenance activities.
They are suitable for medium-high jumps, from 20 to 550 metres, and flow rates from 0.5 to 450 liters per second.
The main feature of the IREM ECOWATT HYDRO Pelton turbines is the typical exact distributor which, in addition to guaranteeing excellent efficiency values as the flow rate varies, allows for reduced dimensions and very flexible water flow regulation thanks to the 6 jets.

All turbines are cover of a Declaration of Conformity IREM to the DM 174/2004 and ACS (Attestation de Conformité Sanitaire).
