To integrate energy production from renewable sources, the FFCAM (Fédération Française des Clubs Alpins et de Montagne) has decided to install an IREM Pelton turbine-generator unit to support the energy needs of the Refuge de l’Alpe de Villar d’Arène.
The energy requirements of the Refuge de l’Alpe de Villar d’Arène, located in the Hautes Alpes (05) department in the Écrins Natural Park in France, have been met with the installation of a stand-alone HYDRO POWER plant, IREM model TPS.
The installation includes an IREM Pelton turbine with a generated electrical power of 1 kW, and manual flow rate adjustment.
Sites like this, characterized by complex terrain and the need to optimize space, are suitable for systems that are easy to manage and require minimal maintenance.
To regulate electrical parameters, the IREM system adopts the constant load operation principle.
This system, in addition to offering very short response times (1/150 of a second), ensures a high level of Power Quality for the connected loads.
IREM’s design choices aim to maximize the robustness of the turbine-generator group and dissipation regulators; materials and technical solutions create a product capable of operating under the most severe working conditions.
Finally, the guarantee of a certified industrial product, customized to the specific needs of each customer, ensures high quality standards while minimizing maintenance operations.
