IREM Pelton turbines: flexible and compact

Compactness is one of the important advantages of the IREM Ecowatt Hydro Pelton Turbines.

The Pelton turbines series TPA / TPS are designed to be installed in a hydroelectric plant with medium-high head, from 20 to 550 meters, and flow rates from 0.5 to 450 liters per second.

The main feature of the IREM ECOWATT HYDRO Pelton turbines is the hexagonal distributor which guarantees excellent performance values when the flow rate varies and allows for a machine with reduced dimensions as well as a very flexible water flow adjustment thanks to the 6 jets.

The hydroelectric group is equipped with a vertical axis generator with a maximum power of 750 kW. The generator can be easily raised to easily inspect the inside of the machine. This allows for a reduction in maintenance times, always guaranteeing maximum efficiency and ease of handling during installation.

Thanks to the design and use of the new IREM AEC electric actuators, exclusive to IREM, it was possible to maintain the dimensions and compactness of the machine suitable for installations in buildings that have already been built and with limited space.

The flow rate is regulated through the use of IREM electric actuators which allow to avoid hydraulic drives, completely eliminating the presence of lubricating oils in the system. This aspect eliminates the risks of water pollution, a very important aspect both for aqueduct plants and for conventional run-of-the-river hydroelectric plants.

IREM for the “Refuge Zero Fumée” project

With the project called “Refuges Zéro Fumée,” the first IREM hydroelectric turbine producing energy from a renewable source was installed at the Refuge de Chamoissière, run by Sebastien and Sylvie. This solution allows the refuge to be almost completely decarbonized, significantly reducing the environmental impact of its management.
