The use of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) is now a well-established solution for controlling electric motors and improving energy efficiency. However, the use of VFDs can generate high electrical stresses, particularly in the presence of long cable runs or in applications on existing systems, with negative effects on motor insulation, bearings and overall system reliability.

The new video explores the role of passive output filters for motor protection, a fundamental solution within the field of POWER QUALITY for reducing voltage peaks, dv/dt and reflected wave phenomena. DV/DT filters (VTF) and sinusoidal filters (SWF) make it possible to extend motor service life and improve the operational continuity of inverter-driven systems.
