From today it is possible to implement a “needle valve” type linear flow regulation system on existing Irem Pelton turbines.
Irem Pelton turbines manufactured and installed with an on-off flow regulation system have achieved enormous success over the years, due to the many advantages that this system brings in terms of robustness, reliability and efficiency.
The change in installation conditions and any variations in the available flow rate in parallel grid systems, or the different needs of users in stand-alone systems, have given rise in some specific cases to the need to vary the flow rate regulation system.
IREM has therefore designed a kit that allows the implementation of the current linear regulation system on all Pelton turbines built after the year 2000, making it possible to regulate the flow rate from 0 to 100% of the jet.
This fine regulation of the flow rate brings advantages in terms of production in systems with limited or no water accumulation system in the loading tank, or in systems with a very low head in which a precise regulation of the level increases significantly, especially in the case of a reduction or/limited availability of flow rate.
This retrofit is also compatible for use on drinking water, as it complies with Ministerial Decree 6 April 2004, n. 174, and can therefore be implemented on machines installed in water supply systems.
