Also the Banki hydroelectric turbines of IREM Ecowatt Hydro Range can be produced in certified version DM 174/2004 for use on drinking water.
Although the most frequent hydroelectric applications in the aqueduct sector are part of the work of high-head turbines, i.e. the well-established IREM Ecowatt Hydro Pelton turbines, in hydroelectric plants it is often possible to exploit, for hydroelectric purposes, a potential characterized by medium-high flows and lower heads. In this case the use of Banki turbines is ideal. The extreme reliability and simplicity of IREM Ecowatt Hydro Banki machines, characterized by oil-free system and manufactured through strictly controlled industrial processes, allow the construction of hydroelectric turbines suitable to come into contact with water intended for human consumption.
Turbines intended to be installed on drinking water must meet specific regulatory requirements.
This application area is regulated in Europe by the directive DE 98/83 / EC that has been implemented in Italy by the D.M. 174/2004 which is among the most restrictive regulations at European level in terms of safety and quality requirements.
IREM Ecowatt Hydro Banki hydroelectric turbines for installation on aqueduct have obtained the D.M. 174/2004 certification following a complex process of verification and implementation of processes and materials.
The D.M. 174/2004 certification requires:
- Risk analysis;
- Certified materials and suppliers;
- Standardization of design and productive process;
- Migration test on finished components;
- Controls, verifications and tests performed in quality system;
- Specific Manuals.
