The Pelton and Banki turbines IREM, special for hydroelectric plant installed on aqueduct, reply to the legislation about the manufacturing process and materials usable in contact with water for human consumption governed in Europe by the European Directive 98/83/CE, in Italy DM 174/2004.
Compliance with D.M. 174/2004 is certified by a Third-Party Organization.

Today an interesting opportunity is represented by the aqueduct installations, where the drinking water is bringing into pressure pipe and the turbine can be placed into the existing plant with the aim of energy recovery, which otherwise will be dissipated, transforming it into electricity.
Considering the extreme importance concerning the public health, for the specific aqueduct installations, IREM supplies hydroelectric turbines that, thanks to suitable materials, industrial process and specific controls comply with the regulations in force on materials that can be used in contact with water intended to human consumption.
