The French electricity grid is recognized as one of the most extensive and reliable in the world. Its transmission and distribution infrastructure ensures an excellent level of POWER QUALITY, creating the ideal conditions to implement targeted energy efficiency strategies, including voltage optimization in low-voltage loads.

Why is low-voltage optimization so important?

In a context where energy is increasingly valuable, controlled voltage regulation offers numerous advantages: reduced consumption, increased efficiency of electrical equipment, fewer failures, and lower CO₂ emissions. This is a strategic approach that combines energy savings with system reliability.

What benefits do IREM voltage optimizers offer?

IREM Ecobuck voltage optimizers are designed not only to achieve energy savings but also to improve POWER QUALITY. Voltage optimization lowers operating costs, reduces equipment wear, and safeguards operational continuity in industrial and tertiary sector installations.

Where can voltage optimizers be applied?

The project highlighted concerns the supply of ten IREM Ecobuck voltage optimizers for school buildings in the Île-de-France region. This choice highlights the strategic role of these solutions also in public contexts. However, applications are manifold: hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, communities, and shopping centers can all gain significant benefits from adopting this technology.

What technical features distinguish Ecobuck?

  • Independent phase regulation, capable of managing loads with current imbalance up to 100% and correcting network asymmetry;
  • Two models supplied: Y314AJB400-S10R and Y316AJB630-S10R, with respective ratings of 400 kVA and 630 kVA, equivalent to those of MV-LV transformers;
  • IP21 metal enclosure for indoor installations;
  • Natural air ventilation;
  • Combined surge arresters class I+II;
  • Electrical efficiency greater than 99.2% at full load;
  • Integrated network analyzers and energy saving calculation in compliance with VDE-AR-E 2055:2009;
  • Advanced supervision system with IremON remote platform for real-time monitoring.

How is service continuity ensured?

Each voltage optimizers is equipped with an automatic maintenance by-pass system housed in a separate cabinet. This device, consisting of three interlocked load break switches, allows three functional states (I-0-II): supply via the voltage optimizers, plant disconnection, or direct supply from the grid. The system is automatically activated in the event of an anomaly, ensuring service continuity, but can also be manually operated for both ordinary and extraordinary maintenance.
