An example of this collaboration is the “Michele Tessore” hydroelectric power plant in the municipality of Perrero (TO), a power plant built by Cav. Tessore in the 1930s.
The new solution was designed with the inclusion of a Banki IREM Ecowatt Hydro horizontal axis cross flow turbine-generator unit. The turbine is positioned outside the loading chamber, inside the power plant building. This fully automated solution is easy to insert and manage and is characterized by reduced maintenance.
The system has an electrical power of 50 kW generated with a head of 10 m and a flow rate of 900 l/s.
The Banki IREM ECOWATT HYDRO cross-flow turbines, for installations in parallel to the national grid, are designed and manufactured entirely by IREM to offer a compact, simple and functional system with the aim of reducing to minimum installation and commissioning operations.

DM 174/2004 ITALY – ACS FRANCE
Referring to the specific applications on aqueduc, the hydroelectric turbines IREM Ecowatt Hydro are in compliance with the European Directive 98/83/CE “Regulation of the quality of water for human consumption” governed in Italy by DM 174/2004 and in France by DGS/SDA7A n° 571 dated 25/12/2002.
All turbines are cover of a Declaration of Conformity IREM to the DM 174/2004 and ACS (Attestation de Conformité Sanitaire).
