ENDESA, one of the main producers and distributors of electricity in Spain, has chosen to rely on IREM as a partner for micro Hydro projects.
The Spanish company’s energy model is the use of clean energy, using renewable energy sources in all their forms, in order to contribute to respect for the environment and sustainable development.
An example of this collaboration is represented by the turbine-generator groups created for the Certescans, Sant. Maurici and Tort-Trullo plants, where Banki IREM cross flow turbines have been installed for off-grid applications.
In the Certescans plant (6 kW), the function of the hydroelectric turbines is to guarantee and supply energy to the motors that operate the lake discharge valves and all the auxiliary services, thus replacing the power supplies of the cable ducts from the nearby Tavascan power plant.
These particular applications demonstrate the versatility and practicality of use of the IREM Ecowatt Hydro turbine-generator units, also thanks to their compactness and ease of installation, together with reduced and simple maintenance activities.
IREM supplies all the main components for stand-alone systems, perfect for areas where there is no electricity grid.
The IREM system for hydroelectric plants in stand-alone operation is appreciated as it represents a reliable and simple to install solution, capable of generating electricity with a high level of POWER QUALITY.
