CAFC Acque del Friuli, the management company of the entire Integrated Water Service (aqueduct, sewerage and purification) of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, has chosen to rely on IREM as a partner for micro Hydro projects.

The goal of this partnership is to replace expensive water pressure dissipation equipment with solutions that transform a costly service into a source of income to be redistributed. This approach not only reduces costs, but contributes positively to the environment: it generates electricity by transforming energy that would otherwise have been wasted into a valuable resource without carbon emissions.

The collaboration has led to the installation of hydroelectric turbine-generator groups, which use IREM turbines both for installations in parallel to the grid and for stand-alone installations.

To date, IREM can boast more than 170 installations of hydroelectric turbines on drinking water aqueducts throughout the world.

The IREM Ecowatt Hydro hydroelectric turbines comply with the European Directive 98/83/EC “Regulations on the quality of water intended for human consumption” regulated in Italy by the Ministerial Decree dated 6 April 2004 n° 174 and in France by DGS/SDA7A n° 571 of 25 November 2002.
All machines produced by IREM are accompanied by a Declaration of Conformity to these legal requirements.
