Banki Synchronous Turbines for stand-alone operation

These are suitable for heads from 7 m to 60 m and effective flow rates ranging from 20 l/s to 1000 l/s. They are the ideal solution to reconcile quality, performances and price. The wheel and the mechanical components are made of stainless steel. The transmission of motion from turbine to generator is performed through a cogged driving belt ensuring the necessary flexibility to the system and optimizing the efficiency of the transmission itself. A special baffle ensures the flow regulation from 0 to 100%. Operation may be manual or automatic through an electric servomotor.

The blades of the wheel are in steel and are directly welded on side plates. The hubs are fixed on the turbine shaft by means of two conic section pliers. The turbine shaft revolves on ball bearings external to the turbine case and transmits the motion through a revolution multiplier, made up of a couple of pulleys with a cogged driving belt, properly sheltered.

The turbine case consists of a welded assembly in sheet steel. A baffle for the manual flow regulation is mounted inside the case. The injector is provided with a small inspection door: the internal part of the injector and the wheel are so easily accessible for inspection and cleaning purposes.

The feeding group is useful to connect the penstock to the turbine case. If consists of the introductor tube on which the floodgate is mounted and the pressure gauge connection. The introductor is provided with a DIN flanged connector for the penstock.

Three-phase synchronous generators are used, from which it is possible to draw single-phase energy. The rotating inductor is a 4-salient pole type. These generators are characterised by the absence of brushes. The exciting current is supplied by an auxiliary generator whose induced rotor is mounted on the same shaft of the main generator. The excitation regulation is voltamperometric by "Compound" system. The ball bearings of all generators are "water tight", hence, they require no greasing.
