Luminous flux regulators

Luminous flux regulation

The energy consumption in the lighting sector, whether in public lighting or private users, constitutes a high percentage of the total energy used.
Energy saving and light pollution are two currently much discussed topics involving all the operators in the lighting field to such an extent as to become the object of national and international recommendations and directives (like UNI 10439, CEN 13201-2, DIN 5044/1). These Standards set down clear indications on the creation of lighting plants with particular guidelines for cutting down maintenance costs, reducing energy consumption, and limiting the flow of light dispersed upwards at desired times.

In connection with this, many governments have taken steps with promotional campaigns and subsidies to provide incentives for using high efficiency lighting sources and equipment suitable to curb energy consumption.

Stabilux luminous flux regulators

These appliances, through voltage stabilizing and regulation, permit to the lighting plants to deliver the max. luminous flux for which they have been designed, only for the periods during which this is necessary.

The advantages

A) energy saving up to 50%, thanks to the stabilizing and regulation of the Iamp voltage programmable according to ignition time. Different voltage values can be set in order to obtain the maximum energy saving and the level of Iighting envisaged by the applicable regulations. It is possible to customize each system in relation to the volume of traffic on the road.

B) lamp life expectancy equal to that declared by the lamp manufacturers thanks to:

1) Ignition cycle tailored for each type of lamp. The soft-start function allows a "gentle" lamp ignition at a slightly lower voltage for some minutes.

2) Supply of stabilized voltage (avoiding too high voltage powering in the slack hours of the night).
On average, it may be claimed that, by using STABILUX, the average life of the lamps is doubled, while maintaining high quality light standards.
As a result, the need for replacement is greatly reduced.

C) Reduction in plant maintenance costs, ensuring a return on investment in an extremely rapid time.

D) Warranty that the lighting plant will be able to deliver the correct lighting level even in presence of input voltage variations.

E) Reduction in light pollution as stated in Standard UNI10819.

F) Reduction in CO2 emissions.
